CONGRESS ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
It will comprise of the following:
Opening Ceremony (OC):
It will comprise welcome addresses and formal declaration of the congress open.
Oral Presentation Sessions (OPS):
Three OPSs to run parallel. Each OPS will comprise a keynote presentation aimed at summarizing the state-of-the-art on the topic, short presentations of papers related to the topic, a summary of the session by a Raporteur, and an open discussion, involving all the speakers and the audience.
Poster Presentation Sessions (PPS):
Posters will be displayed in the poster hall though out the congress period. The authors will be present at their stands during poster sessions to discuss their work with the audience.
Concluding Plenary Sessions (CPS):
The will be three CPS, one per each of the three main topics. Each CPS will involve a panel of speakers (chairpersons/raporteurs of OPSs), each giving a summary of the highlights and conclusions of each OPS. Each CPS is expected to present a report of their conclusion to the international scientific programme committee (ISPC).
Background Plenary Sessions (BPS):
The will be three BPS for issues of general interests, including the (four) IRPA-13 topics, international organization forum, and the associated society forum.
Final Plenary Session (FPS):
The president of IRPA2010 will present the congress final report (CFR) containing the congress’s final findings and recommendations
Training Programme (TP):
The TP will provide participants with the opportunity to update their knowledge in specific areas of radiation protection or professional activity. Appropriate accreditation of the TP will be negotiated with relevant organizations. TP will comprise refresher courses (RC) and workshops. The schedule and topics will be released in subsequent announcements.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
The organizing committees have planned attractive social events to complement the business sessions and to showcase the hospitable Easter African cultures. They include congress dinner, cultural music and dances, safaris, etc.
